Hendricks County Test Net Saturday, July 25, 2009

Posted in

Hello, all. This to remind you that I will be conducting the second Hendricks County Emergency Communications multi-frequency test net on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 11:00 am. The previous net lasted about an hour and 10 minutes. I will conduct the first three phases of the test from the Hendricks Co. EOC in the Government Center in Danville. I will then take a short standby to go mobile and progress to high ground a short distance from the EOC for the rest of the test.

Hello, everyone. There are a couple of things to announce.

Weekly update 5-30-09

Greetings, all. This update puts us back on schedule. Most activity occurred the week of the Dayton Hamvention, with nets on May 13 and 15. Fortunately, the county again skirted serious damage, but other nearby counties were not as fortunate. Please remember that it CAN HAPPEN HERE! On a national level, there is some serious saber-rattling going on with the very unstable "government" of North Korea. Remember that they are closely tied to China, and that raises the ante.

Update for week of 5-9-09 to5-15-09

Greetings, all. We have been busy processing in some new volunteers to help bolster our ranks. Some new radio equipment has been ordered for the Hendricks Co. EOC and should arrive soon. We will have several antennas to install on the roof of the Government Center. If you are available during the day and would like to help, please e-mail me at davidharl@earthlink.net.

Weekly Update

Hello everyone. I am David (Dave) Leimenstoll, N9XOQ, and I have taken over the position of Hendricks County RACES Radio Officer from Bob Burns, W9RXR, who continues to maintain this website. I can be frequently found on the 147.015 repeater after 10:00 am (varies), during my afternoon commute (2:45 - 3:25) and on my way home around 12:30 am. That is probably the best way to reach me.
