Hendricks County RACES

Greetings, all. We have several events involving RACES coming up in this last quarter of the year. The first of those is the Hendricks County Multi-frequency test net which will commence Saturday, October 31, 2009, at 11:00 am. While geared primarily to Hendricks County stations, all licensed amateurs may participate. I will run the first part of the net from the Hendricks County Government Center in Danville, then transition to my vehicle for the 6m and 10m sections of the net.

KG9QJ pointed out that the 6m and 10m frequencies were calling frequencies. So here are the amended frequencies; 6m 52.510 MHz and 10m 29.610MHz.. Hopefully these will be more appropriate to the task at hand.
At this point in the game, I am not as interested in out-of-county communications as I am in determining if our people can communicate and with what bands, freqs, and equipment. If this works out well, I would like to see a District 5 communications test to cover all 11 counties, and it is possible some HF might come into play for more distant counties, especially with NVIS antennas.

This series of nets will be exploratory in nature and will hopefully help us to determine viable frequencies and bands usable to Hendricks County hams in the event of an emergency.

The net will commence at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 18, on the 147.165 repeater. All stations should try to be able to monitor the 147.165 as coordination and directions for the rest of the test will be passed on this frequency. I will call a separate net for each frequency--there will be six in all. Relays will be taken for simplex frequencies.
