Hello, everyone. There are a couple of things to announce.
First, be sure to check in to the Tuesday 147.015 net this evening at 7:30 pm in order to be included in the count to be turned into the State IDHS net on Saturday morning.
Secondly, Hendricks EMA is looking for volunteers to help people crossing between the Danville Friends Church and the County Fairgrounds during the county fair that starts this weekend. The sheriff's department will provide vests, flashlights, and a short training session when you report. They need folks every night of the fair, and you may work as many shifts as you want. I believe the shifts will be 4 hours. You can call the HCEMA office at 745-9229 to volunteer and for more information. The county does not charge us for use of the Field Day site and this is a chance to help them out when they need it.
I will be net control for the 2nd Hendricks County RACES test net on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 am. I will start operating from the Hendricks County Government Center and move off-site for the 220, 6m, & 10m tests. The same frequencies and format will be used as last time (see test net post} but I will list the check-ins I have on the 147.165 repeater so you will know if I have you checked in. That should lessen some confusion that we had last time. If you can serve as a relay on simplex frequencies, please do. This is a good opportunity to exercise your equipment, try out new antennas, etc. so plan to join us.
I heard on HF this morning that Ohio had severe weather over the weekend to include tornadoes. Please stay alert and keep your equipment and selves operational. Stay safe and volunteer where you can, and thanks for being there for the citizens of Hendricks County.
