Greetings, all. We have several events involving RACES coming up in this last quarter of the year. The first of those is the Hendricks County Multi-frequency test net which will commence Saturday, October 31, 2009, at 11:00 am. While geared primarily to Hendricks County stations, all licensed amateurs may participate. I will run the first part of the net from the Hendricks County Government Center in Danville, then transition to my vehicle for the 6m and 10m sections of the net. Stations should check in with their call, name, status, (base, mobile, portable), approximate location, and power used to make the contact. The test will start on the 147.165 repeater. It is advisable to monitor this frequency throughout the test as further instructions and lists of checked stations will be passed during the test on this frequency. We will then progress to 147.450 simplex, 442.900 repeater, 223.420 simplex, 52.510 simplex, and 29.610 simplex (all FM). Barring technical difficulties, the net should last approx. 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
The next event will occur later that evening with the Goblin Patrol, starting at 6:00 pm and probably running in most areas until midnight, or until dismissal by EMA personnel. Please make sure you have your RACES ID on your person at all times throughout the event. If you are participating, please e-mail me with your vehicle description and license plate # so I can pass them along to EMA and the Sherrif's Dept. If you have been cleared and you do not have a county ID, Ben Oliphant will be taking pictures and making IDs at the Hendricks Co. Government Center, 355 S. Washington St. in Danville on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Please enter through the South door, go up the small set of stairs, turn left then right, EMA office is on your right.
The county-wide emergency exercise has been postponed until Nov 4, 2009, and will probably be a tabletop exercise, as the hospitals are full of flu patients. Please e-mail me if you would be available to participate that day, and I will get you more info as I get it. My e-mail address is leimenstoll3cap@juno.com .
Thanks for everything you do for the citizens of Hendricks County, IN.
