Hendricks County ARES/RACES Multi-band Test Net

This series of nets will be exploratory in nature and will hopefully help us to determine viable frequencies and bands usable to Hendricks County hams in the event of an emergency.

The net will commence at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 18, on the 147.165 repeater. All stations should try to be able to monitor the 147.165 as coordination and directions for the rest of the test will be passed on this frequency. I will call a separate net for each frequency--there will be six in all. Relays will be taken for simplex frequencies.

The progression will be: 147.165 MHz repeater, 147.450 MHz simplex, 442.9 MHz repeater, 223.420 MHz simplex, 52.525 MHz simplex 6m FM, and 29.6 MHz simplex 10m FM.

I would like to repeat this test on a quarterly basis to explore the effects of weather and foliage conditions on the various communications mediums.

Please check out your equipment, pre-program your frequencies, and charge your batteries prior to the test. Please check in on as many frequencies and bands as you can. No traffic will be passed on these nets other than instructions and relays. All Hendricks County hams are welcome and encouraged to participate. Thank you for your participation.
