KG9QJ pointed out that the 6m and 10m frequencies were calling frequencies. So here are the amended frequencies; 6m 52.510 MHz and 10m 29.610MHz.. Hopefully these will be more appropriate to the task at hand.
At this point in the game, I am not as interested in out-of-county communications as I am in determining if our people can communicate and with what bands, freqs, and equipment. If this works out well, I would like to see a District 5 communications test to cover all 11 counties, and it is possible some HF might come into play for more distant counties, especially with NVIS antennas.
I will assemble most of the data on the first net: call sign, first name, base/mobile/HT, address where operating, and grid coordinates or Lat/Longs if they have them available. Maybe transmitter power. Everyone who is going to check in will probably do so on the repeater. Subsequent nets will be call sign, base/mobile/HT and power.
I'll be monitoring. Dave L. N9XOQ

I will start the net at 11:00 am on Saturday, 4/18/09 on the 147.165 repeater. Please key up 1/2 second or so before commencing to speak so the repeater has had time to recognize your signal and we won't miss any of your transmissions. Subsequent nets should move quickly. Relays are encouraged on the simplex nets. I want to conclude in plenty of time to get everyone to lunch and not alienate families. Please try to have a way to monitor 147.165 throughout the test as instructions for the next net (including frequencies and info needed) will be passed on the repeater. I will use the repeater to officially close the test net. Comments may be made after the net closes.
