Weekly Update

Posted in

Hello everyone. I am David (Dave) Leimenstoll, N9XOQ, and I have taken over the position of Hendricks County RACES Radio Officer from Bob Burns, W9RXR, who continues to maintain this website. I can be frequently found on the 147.015 repeater after 10:00 am (varies), during my afternoon commute (2:45 - 3:25) and on my way home around 12:30 am. That is probably the best way to reach me.
I do check my e-mail. My address is davidharl@earthlink.net . If you need to call me by phone, my home # is 317-745-4863 and PLEASE leave me a message! I will get back to you, but please tell me when is a good time to return your call.

I want to start using this website on at least a weekly basis, or more often as situations or weather might develop. Starting with April 25. 2009, I will post a weekly update that will describe any activities, training, or anticipated events or actions that might involve RACES, ARES, Skywarn, SATERN, or general amateur radio support. The post should be available to you over breakfast on Saturday. If conditions are developing, please check back often so that we can be prepared as a team.

As I work out of the county, I have two very capable assistants; John Farmer, N9CQ, and Spence Gibbs, N9DVL. If events happen in the evening, one of them will probably be coordinating the response. Please give them your full cooperation.

Amateur radio operators are great people, and I am looking forward to working with each one of you. Check the website often. Turn on your radios, use the repeaters. Ready your equipment, personal gear, and households for emergencies, and we'll all be able to come to the aid of our communities, county, and state when disaster strikes.

Dave Leimenstoll, N9XOQ H.C. RACES Radio Officer
